Hey! Thanks for flagging this. The "Error starting chat" message with the Hub Extension v1.200 is a known issue that others have reported too. Here are a few troubleshooting steps worth trying:

  • Remove and reinstall the extension
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Make sure you're on the latest version of Chrome
  • Double-check that your API key was entered correctly

If none of those do the trick, our team will need to dig into it further. Could you note the exact time (and timezone) when the error occurs? That helps us locate it in the logs and investigate faster. Thanks!

Hi @Eric S. Heinz , we tracked it down. Your Hub API key was rotated on July 15, and the extension is still holding the old key, so every request it makes is being rejected. To fix it, please:

  1. Copy your current API key from https://heinzventures.decilehub.com/api/settings (no need to generate a new one, the existing key is still valid)
  2. Go to chrome://extensions and remove the Hub Extension. This is what clears the old key.
  3. Reinstall it from https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hub-extension-v1200/lfkaiklchmekhdjoebohhgoleadidehc
  4. Reopen the extension side panel. The "Enter your Decile Hub API key" screen will be back. Paste the key, tick the consent checkbox, and save.
Thanks for flagging this. I'm going to work on a long-term fix so that next time you can update the key directly in the extension instead of having to reinstall it.
